On June 28, the annual general meeting of the International Raceboard Class was held in Blanes, during the world championships.
A statutory obligation for the association, but also an opportunity to move the class forward. This year, in particular, major changes have been voted in to encourage the transition from youth practice to sustainable adult raceboarding. A Junior category has been created, and a Junior World Champion title is planned for 2019.
Paul Leone, class president, officiated the meeting, deputised by Marc Leutscher (President of the Spanish Raceboard class) and Ceri Williams (IRC General Secretary). Voting were IRC board members (Frédéric Becquart and Marc Cardon for France) and national classes (FFV as contributor for FRA). Frédéric Becquart and Marc Cardon voted electronically, while Jean-Baptiste François (World Championship racer and FRA member) represented the national class.

Adjustment of sail surfaces (rounding)
Maximum sail surfaces are :
- 9,500 m² for men
- 8,500 m² for women
- 8,500 m² for young people / juniors
Modification of age categories and creation of a Junior category.
- Youth: -19 years old on the day of the championship
- Junior: +19 years / -23 years on championship day
- Senior: +23 / -40 years
- Master: +40 / -50 years
- SuperMaster: +50/-60 years
- Veteran: +60 years
Superveteran category deleted
Marathon race format
Integration of raid-type races or other formats with a target time of 1 hour for the first place. This format integrated into a championship will count with a coefficient of 2 (equivalent to two standard heats).
