The French Raceboard Championship is the flagship event of the year for the class. Once again organized at the Club de Voile de Lacanau Guyenne, we continue to rely on :
- A well-established tripartite organization involving CVLG, FFV and FRA,
- An ideal location in October for its mild weather and all types of wind,
- Ideal club facilities,
- A large, safe and technically accessible lake, ideal for a national event,
- Valuing young people,
- An international outlook, with more and more foreign riders taking part in our French championship.
But the Raceboard 2024 French Championship is evolving and offering you more. "We're pulling out all the stops!!!"
- A preparatory course before the French championship.
A preparatory course for the French championships will be held from October 22 to 24 at the championship site, hosted by the club's facilities. Three coaches for three audiences: improvement, performance and youth. It's possible to take part in all 3 days or just part of them.

- A mixed Open ranking if the Men's and Women's participation quotas are not met. In particular, if fewer than 10 women are entered, the two Men's and Women's titles will be combined into a single mixed "open" title. See notice of race.
- Greater openness to young people, especially for new riders.
The U19 and U25 extracted classifications are renewed with sail areas limited to 7.8 and 8.5 (see notice of race). Podiums extracted from the overall scratch ranking will reward these youngsters in addition to their senior scratch ranking. Any youngsters wishing to race in 8.5 for women and 9.5 for young men will be ranked solely on the general scratch ranking. See notice of race.
For youngsters who want to compete in the French championship but don't have a board, FRA is offering a raceboard 380 (Fanatic, Mistral or F2) available on site for a small fee (20 euros + deposit). 8 boards will be available. Contact: president@franceraceboard.org
- Support for young neo-raceboarders by seniors: the DUO ranking.
Encourage support for new young raceboarders by "mentoring a senior". Two DUO rankings will be set up with podiums extracted. These two rankings will be established on the basis of the points scored and accumulated for a senior man or woman and a young racer who has never taken part in the French championship. See notice of race.
- Accessibility for raceboarders of all levels.
Last year, two fleets, gold and silver, were set up to give everyone, whatever their level, the opportunity to compete in the French championship under good conditions. This year, we're moving towards an even more adapted system, based on the one introduced at the last Spring National in Biscarosse: a motorboat will pull up the fleet after a set time following the arrival of the first competitor, to stop and classify all the racers.
- Coaching open to all
Anthony Rigaut (FFV) will be present on the water and ashore to support the racers. Video debriefings on technical, tactical and regulatory aspects will be scheduled at the end of the day.
- Call for volunteers.
If you're accompanying a racer or simply volunteering, you can help the organizing club and its teams on the water as a volunteer. Lunch provided by the club.

These contributions strengthen FRA for its actions and its recognition by the authorities. They are the means for future projects.
We look forward to seeing you in Lacanau from October 22 to 27!
All the best,
The France Raceboard Association office,
